Goodwood Revival 16th-18th September 2011
So just how hard can it be to persuade over 100,000 people to dress in elaborate period costumes
for 3 whole days, to have to buy their own outfit and to then pay for the privilege of wearing it?
Well, every year Lord March manages this apparently impossible feat by
running the world's largest and best historic motor sporting event at his very own motor racing circuit which fills
the grounds of Goodwood to capacity with people who for just 3 days suspend the real world
and take a step back in time... They also, in the run up, empty every charity shop in the south of suitable
clothing!

It’s a magical spectacle, motor racing on a film set, with a cast such as Marilyn
Monroe, Laurel and Hardy, Dads Army, Mods, Rockers, Spivs, all set against the back drop of 135,000
“extras” dressed in 40’s, 50’s and 60’s clothing, three days to go from air power to flower power!!!
First Take Media Ltd will once more be broadcasting LIVE for the entire
weekend of this event, the Goodwood Revival.
Goodwood Revival is the world’s most prestigious historic Motor Sport
event, all the glitz of the Monaco Grand Prix in the very heart of Sussex – organised by motor sport aficionado
Lord March, a celebration of a golden era of motor racing -1948-66–and of the historic Goodwood motor racing
circuit, setting for some of the greatest F1 & sports car battles of the era.
From our very own studio we provide our radio and media clients with news, views and exclusive
interviews throughout the 3 days of the event, drawing, for our interviewees, on a who’s who of 60 years of
motor sport.
Goodwood Revival is a time warp weekend which pits famous racing drivers
of yesteryear (Moss, Brabham, Hill, Stewart) against modern F1 and Le Mans drivers like
David Coulthard and Mark Webber, in cars from 1940s, 50s and 60’s, it’s wheel banging racing all
the way!!!!
Qualifying is on Friday and there are 16 races on Saturday/Sunday, 350 cars and bikes, races
from thundering pre-WW2 Brooklands titans to the RAC TT, two driver competition, all star drivers in a 1 hr race,
over £50 million worth of the finest GT cars of the 1960’s.

Regular attendees include such legends as David Coulthard, Sir Stirling Moss, Sir Jack
Brabham, Sir Jackie Stewart, Derek Bell, Damon Hill, Johnny Herbert, Jacky Ickx, Marc Surer and F1 team
bosses like Sir Frank Williams, Ron Dennis, Christian Horner, Adrian Newey, Ross Brawn and Patrick
Head.
Many film & TV personalities attend this blue riband event. From the Media, TV, film and
music worlds come Murray Walker, Martin Brundle, Johnny Walker, Chris Evans, Tony Jardine, Rowan Atkinson,
JayKay, Nick Mason and Jeff Beck.
You can stand and see the most glorious era of motorsport re-enacted in front of you!!!

Add to that Flying displays by WW2 aircraft, a £20m collection of rare aircraft, a giant pre ’66
car show & a new car show in a recreation of London’s’ Earls Court, Bonhams Auction sale
of some of the worlds most valuable cars, exhibitions, a market, Kids stuff, 4,000 staff, 40,000 sandwiches, 60,000
coffees, 30,000 pints of beer, 30,000 bottles wine, 2,500 bottles champagne, the event is simply staggering!!!
It’s advance ticket ONLY, the numbers being limited this year to 135,000 people on site. The Worldwide Radio and TV
audience is in excess of 10 million and YOUR listeners can be a part of
it!!!!
